The Main Learning Objectives
To list prerequisite(s) for postoperative splinting & demonstrate the steps of postoperative splinting
To state the importance of coughing after chest or abdominal surgery
To describe prerequisite(s) & the pre-procedure and procedure steps of incentive spirometry
To describe progressive ambulation & to specify things to assess before moving a client out of bed
To perform and demonstrate bed exercises needed for a client before getting out of bed
To describe the nursing role in assisting a client to postoperative Mobilization : dangling at the bedside, standing, and walking
To describe the following pain assessment tools: numeric rating scale, Wong-Baker faces pain scale, face, legs, activity, cry, consolability (FLACC) scale, and pain assessment in advanced dementia (PAINAD) scale
To describe the principles for the selection of pain medication
To list and describe 4 factors to consider during reassessment of pain
To recognize the risk of thromboembolism in postoperative clients
To specify 2 devices that are used perioperatively to reduce the risk of thromboembolism
To compare sequential compression devices (SCDs) and anti-embolism stockings
Methods of Education to Achieve the Objectives
Every video has specific objectives to be achieved
Initially , participant will have pre-test as a part of assessment steps
Participant will watch videos accompanied by images, pdf files , figures or diagrams. At the end , participant must pass post-test to get certification of completion. Participant must follow the learning path in the platform
Evaluation of Scientific Activity by the Participants
